Linda
Duke
Principal & CEO
Linda Duke started Duke Marketing in 1987 specializing in multi-unit
and franchise organizations. Ms. Duke has negotiated media in foreign
markets, nationally and on a regional and local level. She has developed
new brands, completed corporate positioning plans, created advertising
strategies, produced local store marketing programs and grand openings
for numerous multi-unit organizations.
Some
of Linda Duke's career highlights include:
- Vice
President of Sales & Marketing at HQ Business Centers, a 186
unit, $250 million, global franchise network of executive business
suites. Produced sales collateral for seventeen countries in seven
different languages. Managed staff of 16.
- Vice
President of Marketing and Advertising, McKesson Corporation,
a Fortune 100 Company. Managed all marketing aspects of 5,400
Valu-Rite Pharmacies and 850 HealthMart Pharmacies in the United
States with a staff of 12.
- Ms.
Duke is asked frequently to speak at industry and client conferences.
She is a contributing writer for Franchise Times, QSR Magazine,
the California Restaurant Association Bulletin, Restaurant Hospitality,
and other industry trade and business publications.
- Duke
Marketing has consulted with 13 of the top 400 Restaurant Chains
in the United States.
- Ms.
Duke has built relationships with the media, and manages public
relations and media relations for clients worldwide. She has landed
TV news segments on CNN, CNBC, FOX News, Travel Channel, numerous
segments on the Food Network and local television stations across
the country. Ms. Duke also manages investor relations for publicly-held
companies and is an expert in crisis communications.
- Ms.
Duke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Advertising and an Executive MBA in Integrated
Marketing Communications from one of the top 10 executive MBA
programs in the country at Kellogg Graduate School of Management,
Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
- Ms.
Duke is an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University in San
Francisco where she has taught Advertising Strategy to the MBA
students. She guest lectures at various colleges and universities
including Sonoma State University and San Diego State University.
Besides
Ms. Duke's clients, she has spent many hours providing her consulting
expertise to non-profit organizations. "I believe it is important
to give back to the community and provide assistance for those organizations
that I feel strongly about," says Duke. Duke Marketing has
provided pro bono work for two non profit organizations (Lifehouse,
previously MARC, and Zero Breast Cancer, previously, Marin Breast
Cancer Watch), with new names, developed their new brands and managed
the launch in conjunction with Landor, the world's leading branding
firm.
Michael
Fagen
Chief Operating Officer
With over 30 years of experience in sales, management, training,
operations and finance, Michael runs the day-to-day business of
Duke Marketing. His extensive background plus course materials he
created are implemented with many of Duke Marketings clients.
Even the best marketing will have limited effectiveness unless
the company integrates it into every level of the organization,
stated Michael Fagen. Client relations not only keeps you
in business, it is paramount for success. One of our objectives
is to relate marketing to sales and to client service, creating
continuity, making a consistent and effective total campaign.
The reason I joined Duke Marketing is the enthusiasm and
spirit that drives this company, says Michael. I have
