San Rafael, Calif. – August 2009–Duke Marketing, LLC., an integrated marketing communications firm, announced today Linda Duke, principal and chief executive will speak at the upcoming Northwest Sustainability Discover Tour put on by the Truitt Brothers in Portland, OR, August 11th, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. The annual Sustainability Discovery Tour is where growers, manufacturers, and foodservice operators share successful sustainability practices and thought-provoking models with interested foodservice leaders.
As foodservice and multi-unit restaurant operators continue to innovate with the environment in mind, a collective of Oregon-based food leaders stepped up to offer the Northwest Sustainability Discovery Tour, a three-day symposium designed to share first-hand experience and knowledge for building farm to fork supply chains between growers, processors and buyers. Ms. Duke, author of a recently published book, “Four Star Restaurant Marketing Cookbook—Recipes for Restaurateurs” and foodservice marketing expert, will be the morning keynote and will speak about “Communicating the Sustainability Message” how and why, methods and benefits at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11th.
“Sustainability, fresh, local, organic and green are buzzwords in the foodservice today and health and wellness is where menu trends have been heading for years,” says Linda Duke. “Consumers today are more sophisticated. There are groups of customers that value businesses that are doing the right thing. They want to know where their food comes from, they want to know what a business’ social responsibility practices are andthey want inspired taste experiences.”
Duke’s keynote session will cover how to create messages to communicate and educate consumers about sustainable and environment-friendly practices. How foodservice operators can benefit from making a sustainable, restorative relationship with their customers, their communities, and the earth.
Ms. Duke is a nationally recognized speaker and educator. She speaks frequently at industry and client conferences, and is a member of the board of directors of the California Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation and the Fast Casual Alliance.
