“FOUR STAR RESTAURANT MARKETING COOKBOOK—RECIPES FOR RESTAURATEURS™” PROVES SUCCESSFUL

Restaurant Operators Increase Sales with
Local Store Marketing Tactics

San Rafael, Calif. – March 2009– Duke Marketing, LLC™, specializing in restaurant marketing for multi-location and franchise organizations, announced its recently published marketing book, “Four Star Restaurant Marketing Cookbook—Recipes for Restaurateurs™, “ written by Linda Duke, CEO of Duke Marketing, has given several restaurant operators cause to celebrate with sales and transaction increases by following the marketing “recipes” in Duke’s book.  The 300 page marketing resource for restaurant owners and operators, chefs, and chef-rateurs™, debuted in August and has already proven successful even with the battered economy.

“We purchased Recipes for Restaurateurs in August when it first came out,” said Melanie Farkas, CEO of Churro Station franchises. “Three of our franchisees used the recipes in Duke’s book for their grand opening, fundraisers, initial local store marketing plan and in less than six months, we are seeing sales increases,” she continued. “Instead of struggling to stay ahead in this tough economy, all of our locations are seeing same store sales up over last year thanks to the local store marketing efforts we implemented."

Recipes for Restaurateurs offers step-by-step sales building recipes, from planning, timelines, and supplies, all the way though to execution.  “Most restaurant operators were in need of an all encompassing guide—a real tactical marketing toolkit even before the economy soured,” says Duke.  “The biggest challenge restaurant operator’s face is creating, executing and tracking sales driving promotions in their three to five mile radius,” she continued.  Recipes for Restaurateurs delivers applicable ideas, proven methods, and easy to follow instructions to get results.

Me-N-Ed's Pizza, an 85-unit restaurant chain based in Fresno, California, purchased Recipes for Restaurateurs for each of their restaurants and had Duke provide a three hour local store marketing training session for their general managers in September.  “We wanted to get our GM’s fired-up about the fourth quarter and to get out of their four walls and drive sales,” said Tom Ferdinandi, EVP, Milano Restaurants.  “Recipes for Restaurateurs gave them the tools needed to make sales in their 3-5 mile radius and we’re seeing results.”

Boston’s Pizza International Canada's number one casual dining brand with more than 315 restaurants, purchased Duke’s book for some of their operators and community managers in Ontario.  “There has never been a resource like this marketing cookbook,” said Nya Abel, community relations manager, Boston Pizza International.  “It’s a great resource/tool for our operators and community managers.   Recipes for Restaurateurs has great local marketing programs with easy to execute ideas that are ideal for some of our markets.”

Numerous restaurant operators, chefs and industry experts have already given Duke’s book accolades.  “This cookbook is a great format: informative, succinct and to the point, perfect for today’s time crunched decision makers,” said George Katakalidis, founder, CEO, Daphne’s Greek Café Restaurants. "The concepts and ideas presented in "Recipes for Restaurateurs" are probably the most important ingredients for a successful restaurant operation. I wholeheartedly recommend it as required reading for restaurateurs, culinary professionals and culinary students,” said Ferdinand Metz, President Emeritus of The Culinary Institute of America, Certified Master Chef, Past President World Association of Chef Societies, James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.

Recipes for Restaurateurs is a restaurant operator’s marketing resource written in a reader-friendly recipe format with over 250 photos and real restaurant case studies, along with 100 field tested tips, tools and tactics of successful marketing recipes (marketing programs), ingredients needed, and directions (a tactical guide), to generate sales and increase awareness of any restaurant brand.
